Tenille - so much for the weather! I got to work an hour late and soaking wet. Took me 45 minutes to travel 5 miles on the Pike - sheesh! Oh how I long for a 70+ degree day with nothing but sunshine. But...we'll be warm and cozy at Harpers on Sat. w/good friends and great tunes! YAHOO!

John "Jo Jo" Hermann, one of the songwriters and the keyboardist from
Widespread Panic has a solo album out. It's called Smiling Assassin and on
the record he's joined by the North Mississippi All-Stars, John "JB" Bell
and other members of Widespread Panic.
I've heard it and it's great - It doesn't sound much at all like Panic's
albums; it's more country and roots flavored, with Jo Jo putting aside the
keyboards most of the time in favor of electric guitars.

Hey now! Hi Kerrie! How are you? Hopefully I'll get to see you at a show soon!! For those who don't already know, Tom Constanten is making his way back to the Northeast! He's playing with Slipknot on April 12 at Partner's Pub in Fitchburg. He's also playing with Eddy's Shoe(Boston area Dead cover band)at the Linwood Grille on April 19! The Linwood should bring back memories to Slipknot fans!! TC is also playing at Stone Church in Newmarket, NH with members of Percy Hill on April 13. The 14th, he is solo in NY City and the 20th he's in Portland, ME, but don't know who he's playing with. The last gig is at the Living Room on the 21st with Foxtrot Zulu! Hope I can catch one or two of these! With my new business starting up soon, it's going to be hard make it out like I do now! Wish me luck! PEACE!

Chris...was the '69 Blizzard around Valentine's Day? I remember being really little and getting stuck in a snow bank in my Dad's car on Rt. 9 on the way to my grandmother's house. The good ol' Westboro PD drove my mom, sister, brother and me home while my Dad stayed behind to shovel out the car. I remember crying because Dad couldn't come home with us and the Valentine I made for my grandmother blew right out of my hand as I stepped out of my dad's car into the police cruiser.

so had this most upsettin' dream the other nite... basically we were at some surreal venue... i was settin' up the tapin' equipment... the sbd was about 1/2 way up the dance floor... had the marantz an' the mics rite in front of that... had everything ready... my friend shake arrived... patched his DAT into the sbd feed... then like 20 other tapers showed up... mostly w/ mics an' etc... they were all pushy an' rude to other patrons an' venue staff... so anyways the shows progressin'... realize that my deck had the rec. level on zero... d'oh!... then someone knocked over buzzy's mics... hittin' the soundguy... an' it gets worse... later in the nite i find my D6 is totally missin'!... talk about pissed off!... but i calm down sayin' to myself well at least shake's DAT is ok... i'll just tape his masters later... at this point larry mancini shows up... i really don't know if he left under good or bad circumstances... but in the dream he was welcomed back on stage for a song or two... go back to check on the marantz an' find some guy absconded w/ the mic stand for his mics... an' he gives me sh-t about givin' it back... bizarr-o... thankfully i've never had such a sh-tty nite in reality... but when i woke up i had to go check that i still had my D6...

By the way.My experience has been 100% that when I respond by email to nicely explain `how we can possibly have the same name', `who had it first', `why are we posing to be Slipknot', I get a humbled `I`m just a jerk and now you know it' response from these kids, and an apology...I should publish those responses to, to show, they are not bad kids...A little misguided perhaps...but they`re just kids.
The hardest question to answer though, and one they ask alot of us, is `How come we suck?'..that`s a tough one..

Check out this link for something cool. Its someone I grew up with in Brooklyn, NY and played in band together and shared many life/musical experiences. He was the greatest guitar player in the `hood' and dropped it to study cello.

whoa...tough to pick one show, but I'd say the 3-30-00 gig at Johnny D's with Butch Trucks sitting in was a standout show to me, as was the Tribute to Dick at the Palladium altho Knot was just one part of the whole show...it was a great nite. as for Bruce band gigs...yeah like I could pick one...but the last gig with Chris Nemtitz was down right hot ! and the Ally gig was fun just for the fact that it was a last minute venue change and very laidback....

My favorite Bruce Band gig of 2000 was the 1/13 Tammany show...The Weight into Bluebird...DeGugs singing Into the Mystic and Dear Prudence...man, I felt like I owned the Band that night. Nic Carter, a DJ at WBCN, interviewed one of the metal Slipknot band members last Friday evening. Interesting interview to say the least - anyone else hear it? After the interview concluded, the DJ was running down the club listings in Boston for the night...when he got to Slipknot at Harpers, he babbled on for a bit about wanting to get "those guys" on the phone to talk about how they have GOT to change their name and that the "pussy tie-dyes" had better watch out for the "maggots". Interesting listening. Chris, I am in right downtown Boston. Government Center. Took the train from Grafton this morning and it's not bad at all - much better than taking it from Framingham. I wish they'd put in the Westboro station already!

'East Coast gears up for 'major'
snow storm

Weather forecasters have issued a winter storm watch for
almost all of Southern New England and are warning residents
that tomorrow's expected nor'easter is likely to dump more
than a foot of snow on much of the region, snarling travel over
the long New Year's Eve weekend.
The winter storm watch is in effect for tomorrow and snow --
accompanied by strong winds that could gust to hurricane
strength along the coast at times -- is expected to begin by
about noon tomorrow.
Blizzard or near-blizzard conditions are likely for a time
tomorrow night, and forecasters are warning people not to
travel during the height of the storm.
The worst time for travel, according to the National Weather
Service in Taunton, is likely to be from noon tomorrow until
about noon on Sunday. Forecasters warn that air traffic into
ands out of major airports including Logan, T.G. Green Airport
in Rhode Island, and Bradley Airport in Conn. will be affected.
Further complicating matters: the likelihood that the snow will
mix at times with rain, especially south of Boston and out on
Cape Cod. That, according to meteorologists, could caused
power outages as heavy snow and winds bring down power
lines.
Forecasters are also warning that sustained east and
northeast winds are likely to cause coastal flooding at times of
high tide tomorrow and Sunday.
The winter storm watches were posted along the East Coast
from the Carolinas north as forecasters said the storm could
bring the worst snowfall in five years to some areas.
"I hope to be prepared," said Stella Budzinski of Lawrenceville,
N.J., yesterday as she left a Home Depot with a shovel, ice
chopper and a bag of ice melters. "Everyone in the store is
buying shovels and getting ready. I hope it doesn't come."
In New York City, snow removal equipment was geared for
action, along with about 200,000 pounds of salt and
thousands of cleanup workers. It could be the largest snowfall
in the city since the blizzard of Jan. 7-8, 1996, which dumped
more than 20 inches of snow.
In New Jersey, the state's transportation department is
equipped with 150,000 tons of rock salt and more than 600
snowplows and salt-spreading vehicles, spokesman John
Dourgarian said.
"We are ready for the storm," Dourgarian said. "We follow a
rule of thumb, 'We hope for the best, but prepare for the
worst."'
The National Weather Service this morning was still tweaking
its forecast, trying to figure out the path the storm will likely
takes once it forms off the East Coast. A storm track west of
the current forecast would mean more rain for areas like
Boston and Providence. A jog to the east, and more snow
would fall over the Cape and Islands.
The good news, if there is any, is that the storm is not
expected to sit over the area, and is predicted to move out to
sea by Sunday afternoon, leaving behind a last taste of winter
just ahead of the arrival of 2001.
New Year's Day is expected to be sunny, clear and cold.
