Yes I also agree we had a great time at The Attic and it was great to see the crowd there! Good friends, good times, good music! I also want to give a well deserved shout out to my good friends Barbara and Glen Nelson over at Mocking Bird Music in Berlin, MA. I had to go over there to get some needed "work" done on Bass or two and was blessed with "Slip Into Somewhere" playing on their store music for the customers! They both still feel that this is one of the best albums they have heard and promote it and the band every chance they get! They are begging for more!!! Glen also states that a more recent "slip into" was one of the best outdoor shows they has ever been to and had the best sound too (Thanks to Mr. Phil Davidson and Co.) It is very refreshing to know that people of their musical caliber feel the way they do about The Knot and we are very proud to have them as friends and fans!! Please, if you need an instrument or work done on yours, this is the place to go. Glen and Barb make amazing sounding and looking string instruments and do high quality repairs and maintenance. Well, it took me awhile to post about the show at the Attic.....if you did not go then you freaking missed the best Knot gig I've seen in years....the vocals were so tight and Bruce was playing like a man possessed...the 1st set was hi-lighted by the original tunes IMO, and Kid was hot !!!! more EC tunes (or related ones !) After Midnight and Why Does Love Have To Be So Sad mingled wonderfully with the other one and Terrapin. a good size crowd with new and familiar faces was great to see...

We have had some awesome nights at The Bull. Ted has been one of the best club owners as he has always supported the Central Mass. music scene helping many bands get an audience. I'm sure that I am "knot" alone in wishing him success in his future endeavors! First Digital, now The Bull... What's next for Maynard??!! Hope to see many friends and fans tonight!! Last call for Sit 'n Bull Pub By Meghan Kelly GateHouse News Service Mon Oct 29, 2007, 06:00 PM EDT MAYNARD - Facing rising costs and the prospect of installing an expensive new sprinkler system, Ted Epstein, owner of Maynard's iconic Sit 'n Bull Pub, is closing the restaurant for good. A 3-year-old law, created in response to the fire at The Station nightclub in West Warwick, R.I., requires certain types of buildings used for live music or entertainment, with a capacity of at least 100 people, to install a sprinkler system to pass fire safety inspections. There is no grandfather clause and Epstein was faced with the prospect of pouring lots of money he didn't have into a sprinkler system. "I was going to have to put in an extraordinary amount of money into the building,'' said Epstein. The process would have involved ripping up the sidewalk in front of the 163 Main St. pub to bring in a bigger water main from the street. "The water we have coming into the building now - the size pipe is not sufficient to sprinkler a building (this) size,'' he said. The Sit 'n Bull Pub opened nearly 21 years ago and has featured blues, roots rock and R&B musicians. Some notable names, including blues artist and Norwell native Susan Tedeschi, blues guitarist Ronnie Earl and Jay Geils of the J. Geils Band and The Kinks guitarist Dave Davies, have performed at the pub. Epstein initially put together a benefit, "Bash for the Bull,'' to raise money for the new sprinkler system but ultimately came to a conclusion: any money raised wasn't going to be enough. In an interview in July, Epstein said he estimated the cost of the sprinklers to be at least $40,000. Instead of a fund-raiser, the "Bash for the Bull'' is now a goodbye party. Bands Seth Connelly and Friends, The Love Dogs, True West, The Fools and more will be playing at the Nov. 11 event which will also feature a barbecue buffet. I work in Doolin at Hotel Doolin www.hoteldoolin.ie and I'm living in Lisdoonvarna (home of the world famous Matchmaking Festival!). Lots of wonderful music here. Just want to let everyone know about the Dead Jam gig tonight Tonight (Saturday 3/31) at The Attic in Newton, MA. All of Union Street has been renovated and looks amazing. You have to check it out. You won’t believe it is the same place. “The Attic” has also been renamed to “Upstairs at Union Street”. Not sure why… but the new management has changed everything. The show starts at 9:30pm. For directions call Union Street at (617) 964-6684. Oh... and Larry Mancini (former Knot guitrist) will be featured in the Dead Jam lineup tonight.
